In response to the changing conditions of COVID-19 throughout the country and in accordance with Federal guidance, Kemper Health is expanding its benefits and coverage for policyholders: Reimbursement for at-home/over-the-counter COVID-19 tests: At-home/over-the-counter COVID-19 tests purchased on or after January 15, 2022, will only be payable under policy form families CHS, PS-1, IRC, LHS, NRC, GRC, SERC, RN-50, and RN-82. To receive a reimbursement for the at-home/over-the-counter COVID-19 test under these policies, you will be required to submit a purchase receipt, the date of purchase, the manufacturer or product name, and UPC number of the product in conjunction with your reimbursement claim. An attestation that the at-home COVID test, a) is for personal home use, b) is not for employment purposes, c) has not been (and will not be) reimbursed by another source, and d) is not for resale, may also be required. Cost sharing waived: For the limited benefit insurance policies that provide coverage for diagnostic testing and lab work subject to cost sharing, such as coinsurance and deductibles, Kemper Health will waive the cost sharing requirements for Physician-recommended COVID-19 testing, consistent with Center for Disease Control ("CDC") guidelines. Medicare Supplement plan cost-sharing mechanisms for diagnostic testing and lab work will also be waived for COVID-19 testing that your doctor recommends in compliance with CDC guidelines. No indemnity impact: Kemper Health fixed indemnity policies covering lab work, diagnostic services and testing will continue to offer benefits for these services on a lump-sum basis and in accordance with policy terms and provisions. These indemnity policies do not contain coinsurance or deductible provisions. All other plans and coverage will pay according to their terms.
